What is the 403 stainless steel pipe?
403 stainless steel pipe is produced according to the ASTM standard.
403 is equivalent to our
Chinese’ 1 cr12 stainless steel pipe which containing carbon 0.01% and chromium
0.12%. 403 is a kind of international marking method for the stainless
steel. 403 stainless steel tube - S40300 (American AISI, ASTM)
Features and use: a kind of
mateiral with good corrosion and heat resistance, widely used in turbine blade
and high stress components .
The difference between 403
stainless steel and 304 stainless steel:
1) 403 material is a kind of martensite stainless steel;304 material
is a kind of austenitic stainless steel
2) Austenitic stainless steel is non-magnetic or weak magnetic;
martensite and ferrite are magnetic.
3) Corrosion resistance and
toughness of 304 is better than 403; 403 is a kind of stainless steel can be
hardened, after quenching, the hardness is higher.
4) 304 stainless steel containing
about 8% of the nickel, however, 403 do not contain nickel.
