Stainless Steel 321 Pipe Properties

Stainless Steel 321 Pipe Properties

Stainless steel 321 has very good stability . At the temperature of 800-1500 degrees F (C degrees 427-816), chromium carbide precipitation conditions, can still maintain good resistance to intergranular corrosion.

Chemical composition of stainless steel 321:
C :≤0.08  Si:≤1.00 Mn:≤2.00  S :≤0.030 P :≤0.035 Cr:17.00~19.00 Ni:9.00~12.00 Ti:≥5×C%

Due to the addition of titanium in the composition, in the case of the formation of chromium carbide, 321 can still maintain stability.

Mechanical properties of stainless steel 321:
T.S. σb (MPa):≥520 Y.S.  σ0.2 (MPa):≥205 Elongation  δ5 (%):≥40 Hardness:≤187HB;≤90HRB;≤200HV

High temperature operation advantage of stainless steel 321 depends on its good mechanical properties.Compared with 304 and 304L, 321 has better creep stress and anti stress rupture properties. This makes the pressure in the higher temperature of the time, the pressure of the stability of the alloy is still in line with the American Society of mechanical engineering boiler regulations and pressure vessel specifications. The highest working temperature of 321 can reach 1500 DEG F (816 ~ C), while 304 and 304L are limited to 800 degrees F (426 degrees C)

Application of stainless steel 321 pipe:
Mainly used for the manufacture of high and higher pressure steam boiler pipes with high quality carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel seamless steel tubes, the boiler tube by the CPC in high temperature and high pressure work, the pipe will occur oxidation and corrosion in high temperature flue gas and water vapor, so the requirements of steel pipe have antioxidant properties high strength, durable, and has good organizational stability, hydraulic pillar.
