Comparing the chemical composition of several typical 200 series stainless steels, we can see that from the aspect of C content: one type has a C content of 0.10% or more. Due to the large amount of Mn added to the steel, the nickel content in the steel is greatly reduced, usually only 2 to 6%, which largely saves the amount of nickel added.
One type has a C content of 0.10% or more; the other type has a relatively low C content, which may affect its wear resistance. Process costs increase; excellent wear resistance; poor bending and cold upset properties; and the traditional 200 series steel, which is sensitive to intergranular corrosion, and the addition of stabilizing elements cannot change its sensitivity.
3mm stainless steel wire has the following characteristics: the tensile strength after solution treatment is high, generally 800~1500 MPa, and the tensile strength cannot be lowered; the cold work hardening rate rises sharply, the cold working strengthening coefficient K>15, and the processing is difficult.
