309 Series Stainless Steel Plate
The 309L is a variant of the lower carbon 309 stainless steel used in welding applications. The lower carbon content minimizes the carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone near the weld, which may lead to intergranular corrosion (weld erosion) of the stainless steel in some environments.
Compared with 309S, 309 contains no sulfur S content. 309S is free cutting stainless steel containing sulfur. It is used in the occasions where free cutting and surface are mainly required and the light content is high
The Chinese brand number of 309S is 0Cr23Ni13, American standard S30908 (American AISI, ASTM) characteristics and USES: corrosion resistance, heat resistance are better than 0Cr19Ni9
