AISI S2 round bar is an impact tool steel.
Chemical:
Carbon {c} : 0.65 ~ 0.70
Silicon {si}: 0.90 ~ 1.20
Manganese {mn} : 0.45 ~ 0.60
Phosphorus {p} : allows the residual content of 0.030 or less [1]
Sulphur {s} : allowable residual content is less than 0.030
Chromium {cr}: 0.1 ~ 0.3
Nickel {ni} : allow residual content of less than 0.25
Copper {Cu}: allowable residual content is less than 0.30
Aluminum {al}: 0.40 ~ 0.50
Vanadium {V} : 0.15 ~ 0.25
The brand does not have a standard in China, citing U.S. standards
Heat treatment process and application of AISI S2 round bar:
Quenching temperature 880, quenching medium brine, tempering 200 degrees, hardness in hrc58-62. Used for manufacturing hexagonal wrenches, screwdrivers, and so on.
