The high temperature uniform corrosion and electrochemical corrosion behavior of 321 stainless steel in different concentrations and pH values of uranyl nitrate solution were studied by weighing method and electrochemical method. The results of uniform corrosion test showed that under the selected corrosion conditions, the surface finish of 321 stainless steel sample did not change significantly within 960 hours, and the corrosion rate was less than 0.04g/m2, which was resistant to corrosion in low acidity uranyl nitrate solution. The corrosion electrochemical properties of 321 stainless steel in uranyl nitrate solution with dissolved oxygen were studied by corrosion electrochemical method. The corrosion potential and corrosion current density of the electrode were measured. AES analysis shows that the sample after electrochemical corrosion has a certain amount of uranium in the corrosion film, and the depth of the uranium-containing corrosion film is 10-15 nm.

321 stainless steel is Ni-Cr-Ti austenitic stainless steel, its performance is very similar to 304, but due to the addition of titanium metal, it has better resistance to intergranular corrosion and high temperature strength. Due to the addition of titanium metal, it effectively controls the formation of chromium carbide.


321 stainless steel has excellent high temperature stress breaking (Stress Rupture) performance and high temperature creep resistance (Creep Resistance) stress mechanical properties are better than 304 stainless steel. Suitable for welding components used at high temperatures.
